Emissivity

The ratio of Radiation emitted by a surface to radiation emitted by a black body at the same termperature under similar conditions.

There are three types of emissivity:

  • Total emissivity: for all wavelengths
  • Spectral emissivity: as a function of a wavelength
  • Goniometric emissivity: as a function of an angle
