Fiber Optic Manufacturing at Timbercon
Manufacturing is a big part of what we do, and National Manufacturing Day seems like the perfect time to talk about it. We manufacture anywhere from 1,000 to 4,000 unique part numbers every single year, specializing in mission-critical, harsh environment, fiber optic cable assemblies. It has always been important to us to provide services that meet our customers’ needs and make their lives easier, which is why we started manufacturing our fiber optic solutions in house to begin with. In-house manufacturing ensures that customers receive the very best value.
Fiber Optic Manufacturing
The manufacturing industry has changed since we first began. The implementation and progression of quality standards that govern our core markets has impacted our fiber optic manufacturing processes. ISO 9000, AS9100, ISO 13485, APQP and other zero defect programs have added procedures that often slow down and restrict some of the flexibility that customers count on. This has forced us to continuously reinvent ourselves and our processes in order to meet customer needs while abiding by regulations.
Contract Manufacturing
We provide comprehensive contract manufacturing services to meet customer needs. We offer a variety of contract manufacturing services, including mechanical, electronic, prototyping, new product introduction, test development, fulfillment and more. These in-house capabilities make it easy for customers to manufacture their products in one place, which reduces time-to-market and total cost. We’re here to walk our customers through the entire manufacturing process and make it as seamless as possible for them.
Zero Defect Manufacturing for the Medical Industry
Our manufacturing services include zero defect manufacturing specifically for the medical device industry. This type of manufacturing eliminates the risk defective parts for medical devices by guaranteeing the right part the first time, every time. The actual definition of zero defect manufacturing is 3.4 defects out of every one million parts, which is as close to “zero defects” as we can get. Read more about zero defect manufacturing.
