Timbercon Receives AS9100B and ISO 9001:2000 Certification Recommendation
Timbercon, Inc., the fiber optic product and solution manufacturing company providing a vast array of connectivity solutions, today announced it has received a ‘recommendation’ for AS9100B and ISO 9001:2000 standards certification with completion of a final audit by TUV Rheinland of North America. Pending certification, Timbercon will formalize details associated with the certification process and expects to receive final certification before the close of first quarter 2008.
“We are very pleased with the recommendation from TUV Rheinland for AS9100B certification,” mentioned James Davies, COO for Timbercon. “Timbercon has gained some very valuable ground with by completing this process now. In 2007 many of the prime aerospace contractors announced compliance dates for all suppliers to be AS9100 certified.”
The AS9100 certification was developed in 1997 and revised in 2001 to assure customer satisfaction in the aerospace industries. The standard has approximately 80 additional requirements and 18 amplifications of ISO’s 9001:2000 standard. Additionally, this standard contains requirements that aim to not only assure the quality of products but also enhance customer satisfaction. The AS9100 is a quality system requirement standard for suppliers to the aerospace industry.
